In this virtual training event, NTAC researchers discuss important findings from our research on mass attacks perpetrated in public and semi-public spaces, including businesses, restaurants, bars, retail outlets, houses of worship, schools, open spaces, and more. This training will provide guidance on how communities may develop or improve existing violence prevention programs utilizing a behavioral threat assessment model.

This webinar will start with an overview of what steps K-12 educators and personnel may take to report trafficking when they suspect or have been informed a student is being trafficked. Experts from the federal and state level will discuss the multiple mechanisms involved in reporting trafficking for both states with mandated reporting and those without. Because this is a difficult process, practitioners working in schools will discuss best practices for both supporting those reporting trafficking and the student(s) involved. And, since educators see and speak with students day in and day out, an expert with lived experience will provide important context on how educators can become safe, approachable adults for students to feel comfortable in confiding what is happening in their lives and then able to report suspected trafficking.

This webinar will lead participants through a simulated data breach and explore how to assess online educational technology for privacy protections and general FERPA compliance.

This webinar will provide a general overview of the CTAS Purpose Area 1, which allows for the hiring of SROs, and highlight key requirements to submit an application.

This training will provide resources to mental health and school professionals on identifying anxiety in youth and understanding different symptoms as they relate to typical developmental trajectories. The training will also provide strategies to address worry in youth, especially youth of color, with free resources to help in the identification and treatment of anxiety disorders. An important emphasis will focus on culturally adaptive anxiety and how to best meet youth needs.

This webinar will share information about the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and how K-12 educators and educational partners can use this important resource to further support their school communities. PK-12 schools, school districts, regional education agencies, state and federal education agencies, and partner organizations are encouraged to attend.
