Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction
The Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) is the primary agency charged with overseeing public K–12 education in Washington state.

Healthy & Safety
The Healthy Schools Washington (HSW) Program is founded on the ten components of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model and focuses on improving the health of students and staff by providing program coordination and resources to schools.

The School Safety Center provides resources to districts and schools to help in the development of high-quality emergency operations and safety plans.

School Environmental Health and Safety
The School Environmental Health and Safety Program works with local health jurisdictions, school districts, the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, private schools, agencies and non-profits to promote incorporation of environmental health and safety into school facility design, operation, and maintenance.

School Preparedness
Washington’s Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction offers a School Safety Center that provides resources to schools and parents on a broad spectrum of safety related topics including emergency preparedness, threat assessment, school mapping and pandemic preparedness.
